The United States women improve to 2-0 at the Rio Olympics with a 103-63 win over Spain on Monday.
For the fourth Olympics running, Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird led the way for the Stars and Stripes to extend the U.S. Olympic win streak to 43. Taurasi had a U.S.-high 13 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.
Spain played the United States tough, but the U.S. depth was too much for the Spaniards to overcome. All but one of the Americans scored with five players notching double digits.
Alba Torrens scored a game-high 20 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists for Spain in the loss.
The United States improve to a perfect 4-0 against Spain in Olympic play.
In their two victories at the Rio Olympics, the U.S. women have scored over 100 points in each contest and have won by a combined total of 105 points. If the United States continues their scoring bombardment, they may threaten the 1996 U.S. Olympic team's scoring record of 102.4 points per game.
The U.S. will play Serbia on Wednesday at 2:30 pm ET, while Spain will play China in the early game at 11:15 am ET.
