U.S. rolls over China in second men's basketball tune-up

Posted: Updated:

Two games, two resounding victories for the United States men's basketball team.

The U.S. manhandled China Sunday night in Los Angeles, winning 106-57 and displaying star power worthy of the raucous Staples Center crowd. This team might not have quite the superstar pedigree of the 2012 London squad, but they proved once again that they possess all the pieces needed to capture a third straight gold medal.

Kevin Durant led the way with 19 points on seven shots in 18 minutes, and Klay Thompson hit four of his eight three point attempts on the way to 17 points. Four other Americans scored in double digits, as the Chinese had no answer for Team USA's ball movement, depth and shooting.

Team USA won its first exhibition game 111-74 over Argentina two nights earlier and plays its next game, once more against China, on Tuesday, July 26.
