NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Charlie Daniels will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame later this year, and a new exhibit all about his career is coming to the hall, too.

Wednesday, Mt. Juliet’s most recognizable resident said his life has been on great dream.

Daniels came to Nashville in 1967. He had $20 in his pocket, a broken clutch in his car and a guitar.

Nearly 50 years later, the new exhibit honors his life and career.

“It’s almost like a story, a Cinderella story or something,” Daniels said.

Just three months from turning 80, Daniels said he never forgets how it all started.

His career will go on display in September in a new exhibit called “Million Mile Reflections.”

Daniels is currently on the road for a summer tour. He’ll play 13 shows in August.

He’ll return home in September for the new exhibit and his Hall of Fame induction in October, the same month he turns 80.
