NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The CMT Music Awards begin Wednesday night at the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville.

Several country music artists are expected to collaborate for performances, including Blake Shelton and the Oak Ridge Boys, Billy Ray Cyrus and Cheap Trick, and Little Big Town and Pharrell Williams.

Other scheduled performers include Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean and many more.

The buzz ahead of the award show is whether CMT will step in and save ABC’s Nashville, which was canceled last month after four seasons.

Several Hollywood trade publications said Nashville will return for the fifth season on CMT and the Hulu streaming service.

Lionsgate, the show’s producer, already has season five mapped out. The show’s stars are also still under contract.

The CMT Music Awards begin Wednesday at 7 p.m. on CMT. For more information, click here.

Channel 4 will be streaming live from the red carpet beginning at 5:30 p.m.
