NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The start of the 2016 CMA Music Festival kicked off with flair Wednesday morning with tons of fans packed in Ascend Amphitheater for a free concert.

Some fans arrived as early as 6 a.m. to get good seats to see country star Chris Young.

"I love his song. I love Cassidee Pope. I've listened to him for a long time. I told my husband we had to get up early and get in line, we have to be close. I want to see him up close," said fan Lori Cook from Alexandria, AL.

Young shared the stage with the Fisk Jubilee Singers, a legendary African-American a capella group. The 10 students came to give fans from across the country a warm welcome to Nashville.

Mayor Megan Barry and Metro Schools students who benefit from the CMA Foundation's support of music education programs also joined the stage.

The four-day celebration continues Wednesday night with the CMT Music Awards.

Several roads are closed downtown for CMA Fest. Check out the interactive map below.
