MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

More commissioners are calling for Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold to resign.

A news conference is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday at the county courthouse.

Eight to 10 commissioners are expected to attend, including commissioners who have not previously spoken out about Arnold’s Friday arrest.

Arnold is facing federal charges of public corruption in conjunction with his secret ownership in an e-cigarette company that was doing business inside his jail.

A federal indictment charged Arnold made more than $66,000 in profits while denying he was part-owner in the company.
