Tennessee sheriffs indicted

A list of most recent indictments of Tennessee sheriff's by either county or federal grand juries.

2015: Former Gibson County Sheriff Chuck Arnold was indicted for official misconduct, theft and other charges. The TBI investigation also netted 11 other indictments.

2013: Madison County Sheriff David Wolfork was indicted by a Madison County grand jury on charges of attempted aggravated sexual assault. He was later found not guilty.

2008: Hamilton County Sheriff Billy Long was indicted by a federal court grand jury for bribery, money laundering and providing a gun to a felon.

2007: Williamson County Sheriff Ricky Headley was indicted charges of official misconduct in Williamson County and 33 prescription fraud charges in Davidson County.

2007: Claiborne County Sheriff David Ray was indicted by a grand jury on charges of alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl. Some charges were dismissed while other charges were to be dismissed if Ray completed a probation program.

2006: Sumner County Sheriff J.D. Vandercook was indicted by a federal court grand jury on charges of fraud and money laundering.
