Chef Paulette's Italian French Toast

Italian French Toast
2 large eggs
1/3 cup milk
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg    
salt & pepper to taste
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons olive oil (or 1/2 and 1/2)
4-6 slices Italian bread or white sliced bread (crusts removed)    

Whisk together the eggs, milk, cheese, and nutmeg. Season with salt and pepper. Heat a little butter and/or olive oil in a frying pan till hot. Dip the bread slices in the mixture, shake off excess, and fry until golden brown on each side. Serve warm with a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
