NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A 27-year-old Nashville woman is already a world champion.

Kristin Reffett always thought her future would be in accounting. Her school work and first few jobs put her on a path to life in an office.

Reffett said she was busy and making good money, but something was missing.

“I knew my favorite part of every day was going to the gym, so I didn’t want to sit in an office for the rest of my life,” Reffett said.

The gym and the world of CrossFit are now her life.

“High, intense, functional movement that constantly varies,” Reffett said.

Reffett’s training includes high-powered, 20-minute, full-throttled workouts.

“You get used to it,” she said. “It gets better each time.”

Reffett is so used to it that her Cookeville-based team recently won the CrossFit World Championship competition.

Reffett now trains everyday people at the Centennial Fitness Center.

“They know I don’t feel bad for them when I make them hurt,” she said.

It’s not accounting, but her new math that adds up to a healthy lifestyle.

“You know you’re doing something good for yourself,” Reffett said. “You know it’ll be good in the long run. Hurts for a little bit, but feels better once you’re done.”
