FRANKLIN, KY (WSMV) -

Six people are recovering from injuries suffered when a tree snapped and fell in the crowd town square in Franklin, KY.

Police say hundreds of people were gathered on the square for a Relay for Life event, when a branch snapped and fell.

The branch did not fall on top of anyone, but six people were injured trying to get out of the way, including a toddler and a pregnant woman.

All of the injuries were minor.

The Franklin Favorite reports 500 people were gathered on the square for the event, which is one of Simpson County's most popular annual events.
