Deadly wrong-way crash closes I-40

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 after a deadly head-on collision near Old Hickory Boulevard in Bellevue.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash.   Metro police say Devin Strong, 26, got on the Interstate heading in the wrong direction.

Strong's Nissan Sentra hit James Hall's pickup truck head-on just after 2 a.m.    Strong died at the scene.  Hall died after being taken to Vanderbilt Hospital with serious injuries.

The third driver involved in the collision, Christopher Miles, 53, escaped without serious injuries.

Police found no evidence of drugs or alcohol at the scene.  The investigation is ongoing.
