Aimee Fortney's Chocolate Orange Bowls for Easter

Posted: Updated:

Need something last minute or super easy for Easter?

You can even prepare the "bowls" the night before and have everything ready to go after church!

This recipe serves four but can easily double or triple:

  • 4 navel oranges
  • Orange sherbet
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips, melted
  • Fresh mint
Cut the tops off of the oranges. If your oranges are large, you can cut them in half and use halves, rather than whole oranges. Take a knife and cut around the inside of the orange.

Then take a spoon and loosen the edges and bottom of the orange (the fruit part away from the shell/peel). Set the fruit aside or eat it while you prep.

If making ahead, place the orange "bowls" in the freezer. When ready to serve, you can add the melted chocolate to the bottom, if desired, then scoop the orange sherbet into the oranges.

Drizzle melted chocolate on top of each scoop of ice cream, then garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

Super easy, but also super delicious! Enjoy!
