A security guard at a Nashville Waffle House shot at a car full of men after a customer was shot in the parking lot.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. at a restaurant on West Trinity Lane.

Metro police say the trouble started as a group of customers tried to leave.  The men got into an argument with another group of men in a car.

Someone in the car opened fire, sending a man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The security guard returned fire.   According to Metro police, the guard fired six shots - emptying a small revolver.

Minutes after the shooting a man arrived at Skyline Hospital with a gunshot wound to the face.

Police are searching for a Dodge Charger, which may have gunshot damage.

Officers are reviewing surveillance video in an attempt to identify the suspects.
