MOUNT JULIET, TN (WSMV) -

Porky the wayward pig is back in custody after he broke free in Mt. Juliet on Friday.

The pig, who belongs to Mt. Juliet Middle School, was eventually returned home safe and sound with the help of police, city workers and animal control.

Officers make sure he didn't get hit after he walked out into traffic.

In a tweet, the Mt. Juliet Police Department called Porky "the most stubborn piggy that we have come in contact with."
