Aimee Fortney's Honey Bourbon Salmon

Like the cocktail, the "Old Fashioned," there are similar ingredients in this salmon!

  • 1/3 cup bourbon (I used Jim Beam Double Aged)
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves of garlic, diced
  • 1 small red onion, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 to 2 pounds fresh salmon filet
  • Orange slices
  • Lime slices
Mix all ingredients together in a glass dish, then add the salmon. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. 

Preheat oven to 400. Spray a cookie sheet that is lined with cooking spray and remove the salmon from the marinade mixture. 

Place the salmon, skin side down, and spoon a bit more of the marinade onto the salmon. 

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the salmon is flaky and not gummy. 

Serve with orange and lime slices.
