NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) - A driver is dead and two others are in critical condition after a head-on crash on I-65 near Briley Parkway in Madison.

The collision happened just after midnight Sunday.  According to Metro police, the crash was caused by Delois Beasley, 38, who was driving south in the northbound lanes of the interstate.

Her Cadillac Escalade hit a Corvette, killing Michael Campbell, 41, or Brownsville, Kentucky.

Both Beasley and the passenger in the Corvette were taken to Skyline Hospital with critical injuries.

Officers say Beasley told investigators that she had consumed "way too much" alcohol. Officers say she had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech.

Metro police tell Channel 4 News that charges of vehicular homicide by intoxication and vehicular assault are pending upon her release from the hospital.
