Boots on display at Ft. Campbell for Military Survivor Appreciation Week

Posted: Updated:

It's Military Survivor Appreciation Week and more than 5,000 boots are on display on the lawn of the 101st Airborne Division headquarters at Fort Campbell.

The boots were collected from service members to honor those who died in support of the global war on terrorism since Sept. 11, 2001.

More than 1,000 boots are needed to represent every life lost.

To donate, books can be dropped off at the Fort Campbell Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services building at 2703 Michigan Ave., Fort Campbell, KY 42223. Boots can also be mailed to that same address via FedEx or UPS.

The boots will be on display until Oct. 31.
