Aimee Fortney's Grown-up Pigs in a Blanket

Looking for some fun tailgating ideas? Make these delicious Grown-up Pigs in a Blanket!

This recipe makes 8 appetizers (can double/triple, easily):

  • 2 links Italian sausage, cooked
  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed
  • Mustard
  • Monterrey Jack cheese, sliced in 1 to 2 inch slices
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 teaspoon water

Place a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet, then set aside. Preheat your oven to 350.

Cut each slice of puff pastry into four squares. Cut Italian sausage into "chunks" - you should be able to get about three to four pieces, per link.

On the puff pastry, add a small line of mustard, then the Monterrey Jack Cheese, then a 2-inch piece of sausage.

Roll up and seal, then place seam side down on the lined cookie sheet. Brush each pastry with the egg wash.

Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!
