NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The historic RCA Studio A building has been sold for $5.6 million.

According to the Nashville Business Journal, local preservationist Aubrey Preston purchased the building.

The Music Industry Coalition, which formed to help save the building, was thrilled to hear there was a buyer.

Developer Tim Reynolds planned to replace the building with a condo development.

Ben Folds, the musician who is a tenant of the studio, helped spearhead efforts to save the building. He posted the following message on Facebook:

"I'm encouraged about the impending sale of the building to my friend who is a proven leader I greatly respect."

Tenants said they are cautiously optimistic about the sale, but they still don't know how the building will be used.
