Two teens in Murray County crash laid to rest

CHATSWORTH, MURRAY COUNTY - The Chatsworth community continues to mourn the loss of three teens and a man killed last Thursday in a car accident. Two of the teens were laid to rest Monday.

It has been a somber Labor Day weekend in Murray County, as the Chatsworth community pays its respects to the three young lives lost in Thursday night's accident.

Not a single parking space was empty at Holly Creek Baptist Church as a joint funeral was held for 17-year-olds River Sosebee and Joshua Roberts.

"They were great people," says Erica Catlett.

Community members have spent the holiday weekend not only praying for the families of Sosebee and Roberts, but also the families of 18-year-old Chelsea Hullender and 57-year-old Bryan Bartley, who also died in the crash.

Sunday night, hundreds of people filled the city park in Chatsworth, lighting candles and reflecting.

"I don't think there are words to describe really, a situation that is as tragic as the one that we are facing," says Murray County High School Principal Gina Linder.

Linder says all the community can do is pray. Some of those prayers are now for 18-year-old Alexis Pinson the only survivor of the accident.

"When I was talking to her about it. She was explaining about the wreck, because she remembered it, I could see tears coming out of her eyes," says Blake Terro says Pinson's cousin.

Her cousin says while he is thankful she survived, he can not even begin to imagine the hurt and pain of all the other families touched by this tragedy.

Chelsea Hullender was laid to rest on Saturday.
