UPDATE: Missing Walker Co. inmate captured

UPDATE: Jerry Morgan was captured around 8:30p.m. by the Walker County Sheriff's Office and the Ft. Oglethorpe Police Department on Hudson Street in Rossville.


Authorities with the Walker County Jail are looking for 34-year-old inmate Jerry Allen Morgan, Jr. of Rossville.

Morgan escaped from his building and grounds assignment Friday. Morgan was being held on a probation violation and burglary warrants.

Surveillance cameras at the jail reveals Morgan was picked up in a white automobile Friday afternoon.

Three persons, including his wife have been arrested in the escape; however, Morgan remains on the run.

The three persons have been booked at the Walker County Jail on (1) Facilitating an escape and (2) Hindering Apprehension of a inmate.

Walker County authorities arrested 32-year-old Robin M. Morgan (wife), 27-year-old Amber J. Burk  and 26-year-old Scott A. Elliott all of Rossville. All three were in the automobile when Morgan was picked up.

Law enforcement has been aggressively tracking Morgan on Saturday. He is believed to be in the northern part of Walker or Catoosa counties.
