FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police say shots were fired into a residence Wednesday night at a home in the 500 block of Cedar Creek Road.

The call came in around 7:50 p.m. and the preliminary investigation showed that the victim's residence was shot into by a known suspect. The shooting was a result of a domestic dispute, according to police.

The suspect then retreated and barricaded himself inside a residence that was also located in the 500 block of Cedar Creek Road.

After several hours of negotiations, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

No one was injured.

Detectives are currently investigating the shooting and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
