The Channel 4 I-Team has uncovered new information about the truck driver killed Friday morning in a massive explosion on Interstate 65 in Franklin.

The truck driver was on his way to deliver gasoline to Quik Mart convenience stores in Middle Tennessee, something he had done for the Edwards Oil Company for 40 years.

The I-Team was at Edwards Oil's headquarters in Lawrenceburg Friday afternoon when the damaged tanker he was driving was returned.

The company has not released the truck driver's name but said he was a beloved employee who had an excellent driving record.

Edwards Oil Company delivers gasoline to a number of Quik Marts in Alabama and Tennessee. The I-Team looked into their safety record, and they have not had any crashes or fatalities in the last two years. Federal officials gave the company a satisfactory safety rating.
