ELIZABETHTON, TN (WJHL) - Elizabethton police want to find a woman who they say tried to take advantage of a local charity that helps those in need.

Police say Teresa Stotsy is wanted on three counts of criminal simulation.

Police believe she collected forged receipts and documents in hopes of making some quick cash from a local non-profit charity by claiming she needed help with living expenses.

"After some checking, there was some suspicion about these particular receipts and we learned that they were actually forged documents," said Capt. Joy Markland, Elizabethton Police.  "The transactions never occurred and these receipts and documents were presented in attempts for this individual to get some kind of assistance thru living expenses."

If you know where police can find Stotsy, call 423.542.4141 or 423.542.7574 .
