Two teens landed behind bars after police said they stole guns and cars from two establishments.

Officers arrested Jonathon Steele, 19, and Khalil Brown, 19, on Sunday morning.

An affidavit states several officers responded to a burglary alarm at the Nashville Armory on Kenilwood Drive. Police witnessed the suspects running away from the building with backpacks. An officer took Steele into custody, and Brown jumped a fence before eventually surrendering.

Brown later confessed to breaking into Nashville Armory, as well as stealing several vehicles with Steele the previous night, according to court documents. Brown told detectives Steele had used a BB gun to shoot the window of Firestone Complete Auto Repair on Murfreesboro Pike. The boys then stole several keys inside the business and took three vehicles from the parking lot.

According to the affidavit, Brown said the duo hid the cars in different locations in hopes of using the vehicles in future robberies.

Detectives uncovered 10 firearms inside one of the vehicles the suspects said they stole. Officers estimate the duo stole about $1,500 in ammunition and $9,600 in firearms.

Steele, a convicted felon, was also charged with illegal possession of a handgun. Records show Steele had previously pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary and theft from an incident in 2013. Sources close to Steele said he had been released from jail less than two weeks ago.

The teens will appear before a judge on Thursday at 9 a.m. The duo faces a slew of charges including burglary, theft and misdemeanor handgun offenses.
