RALEIGH, N.C. -

Raleigh police arrested a 46-year-old man for vehicle theft after a series of incidents Saturday afternoon.

Police received a call carjacking in progress call around 10:45 a.m. Saturday in the intersection of Milburnie Road and Raleigh Boulevard.

Shortly after, an incident was reported involving two vehicles in the parking lot of the Food Lion in the 3600 block of New Bern Avenue. Upon arrival, Raleigh police found a white Chrysler Pacific. Police said the second vehicle left the scene before Raleigh police arrived.

Police located and arrested the driver of the Pacifica, identified as Endrell Dwayne Oliver, 46, and charged him with vehicle theft.

Raleigh police said a carjacking did not happen as Oliver is believed to have stolen the Pacifica earlier and not at the intersection of Milburnie Road and Raleigh Boulevard.

Shots were fired during the string of incidents but no injuries were reported, police said. No charges have been filed as a result of the gunfire.

Bullet holes could be seen on the Pacifica while it was parked in the Food Lion parking lot.

Raleigh police said it is still investigating the incidents.
