Aimee Fortney's Turkey Sausage Patties

Posted: Updated:

Take plain ol' ground turkey and turn it into sausage that is perfect for breakfast or a dinner dish with steamed vegetables!

My husband Michael came up with this recipe, and I only tweaked it a little! Instead of honey, I used pancake syrup, and instead of crushed red pepper, I used cayenne pepper.

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs (GF options are cornmeal or grits)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon pancake syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (for less heat, just use 1/2 teaspoon)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Mix all ingredients together then form into little patties. Heat your skillet and add olive oil; then add the patties to your heated skillet. Cook on both sides until done; about 5 minutes per side.
