Voter turnout has been steady all day, but local polling places are bracing for a big after-work rush.

And some "hot races" in Hamilton County are driving voters to their precincts.

The election commission says it's been a smooth election day so far.

But to expect longer lines from now until the polls close due to last-minute voters.

Hamilton County was the first county to report election results to the state back in May and the election commission hopes to do the same tonight.

Polls are open until 8 p.m.
