WELDON, N.C. -

The Halifax County Sheriff's Office arrested a 19-year-old man and obtained an arrest warrant for an 18-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting that left a 15-year-old dead earlier this week.

Samaj Tojuan Clanton, 19, of Garysburg, turned himself in without incident, the sheriff's office said. Clanton is charged in the death of 15-year-old Keyon Garner.

The sheriff's office obtained a warrant for the arrest of Teddy Keith Anderson Jr., of Weldon, in Garner's death. Anderson is considered armed and dangerous, authorities said.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Anderson is asked to contact the Halifax County Sheriff's Office at 252-583-8201, Halifax County Crime Stoppers at 252-583-4444 or Weldon Police Department at 252-536-3136.

Clanton and Anderson each face charges of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said more arrests are expected. Clanton has not been charged in the death of a 2-year-old on Tuesday.

“I still hold the belief that the two cases are related,” Tripp said.

Garner was shot and killed and two others were injured Monday around 9 p.m. at the 11th Street and Maple extension in Weldon, the sheriff's office said.

Authorities said the two other victims were treated and released from a medical facility in Roanoke Rapids. The ages of the other two victims are 17 and 20.

One victim was shot in the back and one was shot in the leg.

A second shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at a home in the 600 block of Cedar Street, just blocks away from the first scene.

Weldon Police Chief Mark Macon said someone fired shots into a home, killing a 2-year-old girl and wounding the girl's 54-year-old grandmother. Macon said the grandmother is in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital.

Larry Price, the grandmother's husband, said they were all sleeping when he woke up to three gun shots. Price said the shots came through the window and his wife Catherine was hit at least three or four times, including in the face.

Price said Duyanna's mother, Tina Point, is his adopted daughter. Price believes Point was hanging around 11th Street when the other shooting occurred.

He said he believes Point may have gotten into an argument with someone who then followed his adopted daughter home.

Investigators are not saying what the motive might have been or if the two victims in this house were targets.
