Seasonably hot Wednesday, late-week storms

Posted: Updated:
Storm chances increase by the end of the work week. The weekend stays wet off and on.

Sunny skies this Wednesday morning mix with some clouds this afternoon. Storms chances are slim to none, but it will be hot and a little more humid with highs in the lower 90s. Skies are fair tonight with lows in the upper 60s. Isolated showers and storms could pop up Thursday with highs again in the lower 90s.

Friday's storms chances go up as southerly winds tap into more Gulf of Mexico moisture and a front moves near the area. Highs reach the upper 80s.

This weekend looks wet at times with showers and storms popping up off and on.  Some of the storms could have heavy rain and possibly strong gusty winds.  Lightning will be a problem, too.  So plan for some intense storms at times that may even have some small hail. Highs this weekend top out in the upper 80s under very muggy conditions. Storm chances might back off early next week.

Rare back-to-back tropical systems expected to move in Hawaii's direction. Hurricane Iselle moving thought the islands Thursday night, then Hurricane Julio to pass to the east this weekend, probably as a weaker Tropical Storm by then.
