CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - July 27th, 2014 around 6pm several tornadoes touched down in east Tennessee ripping roof tops to shreds and destroying several structures down to the core  in Campbell and Claiborne County.

"It was rated an EF3 tornado by the national weather service. It caused a lot of damage in both counties."

Within 24 hours of the storm leaving a path of destruction behind. The all-volunteer team Rubicon traveled to the devastated area to help those impacted.
"people came from here from all over the region. Tennessee, Georgia. I came from DC and he came from Kentucky."

Nicholas Boucher , a Chattanooga native rolled up his sleeves with 30 other volunteers from all over the country to help remove debris and help the storm victims. He says, the EF3 tornado started in Speedwell near Mountain Ridge and finally ended in Campbell, TN.
"When I first came out here the roads were not accessible, people couldn't get inside their homes or get out of them. There was roof damage with trees that feel into them," says Boucher.

Despite all the hard work ahead... Team Rubicon says there is a bigger picture they are all grateful to know - especially after seeing the damage left behind.

"It was a blessing for these communities that no one was hurt. It was tragic but everyone walked away with their lives- that is nothing short of a miracle for these folks."
