1 killed in Ray Road shooting in Harnett County

SPRING LAKE, N.C. -

One person was killed Wednesday in a shooting in a shopping center parking lot on Ray Road in Harnett County.

The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office responded Wednesday to a "shots fired" call in 6000 block of Ray Road.

Deputies located a victim behind some dumpsters behind one of the businesses. The victim was identified as 18-year-old Eric Kentrall Staten of Spring Lake.

The incident remains under investigation and no arrests have been made at this time.
