It's always alarming when someone is arrested on federal gun charges. But when that person arrested is also a friend of the main suspect in Holly Bobo's murder, it raises a lot of questions.

The charges Robert Shawn Moody is facing are not connected to the Bobo case, but he was with Zach Adams, one of the main suspects in the case, just days before Bobo disappeared.

Moody is a man with a lengthy criminal history in Decatur and Henderson counties, including statutory rape. He's also a registered sex offender in Florida.

Moody was arrested last week and charged with being a felon in possession of a gun. The ATF says Moody received a Russian shotgun and ammunition from across state lines.

Just nine days before Bobo disappeared, Adams got arrested at the Natchez Trace State Park for resisting arrest, assaulting a park ranger, drug possession, tampering with evidence, reckless driving and a violation of the open container law.

Officers say Moody was with Adams that night and he was charged as well.

The two got out of jail shortly after being charged. Just a few days later, Bobo disappeared.

Channel 4 asked the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation if Moody's arrest has anything to do with the Bobo case.

A TBI spokesperson issued this statement: "For the sake of the ongoing Holly Bobo case, we are not willing to speculate about specific individuals and whether they might be connected to the investigation."

In response to this latest development, the Bobo family said they would like to see everyone who was involved in any way brought to justice. They also beg anyone that knows anything about Bobo's disappearance or whereabouts to do the right thing and come forward.

Moody will be in federal court on Thursday at 2 p.m. for a detention hearing in Jackson, TN.
