NEW YORK -

Allison Williams has been cast to play the title character in NBC’s “Peter Pan Live!”

The classically trained singer and star of HBO’s “Girls” will perform alongside Christopher Walken as Captain Hook in the Dec. 4 telecast.

Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who produced "The Sound of Music Live!," will again executive produce the production.

“We couldn’t be happier that Allison Williams is our Peter Pan,” said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment. “We think she will bring the perfect blend of ‘boyish’ vulnerability and bravado to save the day against Christopher Walken’s powerful Captain Hook.”

Williams graduated from Yale University in 2010 and has since starred as Marnie Michaels in the Golden Globe-winning “Girls.” Williams has shown off her vocal talent on the show and other projects.

“I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true,” said Williams. "It’s such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I’m very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team.”

Williams the is daughter of Brian Williams of "NBC Nightly News."
