NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The 11-year-old who was injured in a crash on eastbound Interstate 24 last week has died.

The four-vehicle crash happened north of downtown Nashville, just south of Briley Parkway, on July 8 and closed the interstate for hours.

Metro police said Alysia Johnson, of Clarksville, was riding in the back seat of a Ford Explorer that was stopped in traffic when it was struck from behind by a Chrysler Sebring.

Charges have not been filed against the driver of the Sebring, 70-year-old William Miller, of Pierz, MN.

Police said Miller's inattention to the roadway appears to be the contributing factor to the crash and that there was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement at the scene.

Johnson died on Tuesday evening at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

None of the other people involved in the crash had life-threatening injuries, officials said.

The District Attorney's Office will be reviewing the report from the crash when it is completed.
