Rainfall totals from Tuesday morning

Posted: Updated:

What a wake up across the metro Tuesday morning as extremely strong monsoon storms fired up and rolled over the city. These storms started around sunrise on the far east side and gained momentum as they continued westward. By the time they hit downtown these storms had heavy rains and very slow movement, a perfect set up for flash flooding. A Flash Flood Warning was issued for areas to the west of downtown and also up on the northwest side of town as these storms dumped water.

Rainfall totals were quite impressive with these storms as some areas picked up over two inches of rain. At the airport itself, Tuesday's rain brought with it the largest rainfall total this year from a monsoon storm for Tucson. Here are the rainfall totals from Tuesday's morning:

Moore/La Cholla (Oro Valley)
Oro Valley
Keystone Peak (Near Green Valley)
Rillito/La Cholla
Rio Rico
Catalina State Park
Picture Rocks
Tucson (TIA)
Green Valley
Corona De Tucson
