THOMPSON'S STATION, TN (WSMV) -

Eight people were arrested Tuesday afternoon after Williamson County deputies found an active meth lab inside a home on Cool Springs Road.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office said a deputy was going to 6649 Cool Springs Road to serve a warrant to 21-year-old Jacob Aaron Nickens.

"A deputy came here to serve a probation violation warrant," said Sharon Puckett, spokesperson for sheriff's office. "When someone came to the door, an active meth lab was in eyesight."

Puckett said authorities arrested five men and three women who were at the home.

Because of the hazardous material situation, all the suspects had to be decontaminated before being taken to the Williamson County jail.

Authorities also found a non-active meth lab on the property as well.

"It is a dangerous situation," said Puckett.

Police said 51-year-old Barbara Allison Nickens and Jacob Aaron Nickens lived at the home.
