Bowling Green man stabbed in parking lot, dies

BOWLING GREEN, KY (WSMV) -

A fight in a parking lot turned deadly Monday night in Bowling Green.

Police responded to the fight call at 9:46 p.m. in a parking lot at the corner of Fairview Avenue and 31W Bypass.

Before police arrived, a vehicle left the scene with the victim of a stab wound inside.

Police stopped the vehicle at the corner of Sixth and State streets where an ambulance was called.

Police said Phillip P. Cox, 55, of Bowling Green, died at the hospital as the result of being stabbed once in the torso.

An autopsy has been requested.

Police questioned the female driver of the vehicle.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
