Obama's 'Between Two Ferns' interview gets Emmy nomination

Posted: Updated:

The episode of “Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis” which featured President Obama has earned the comedic actor an Emmy nomination.

The more than six-minute interview was nominated Thursday for Outstanding Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program, according to the Emmy’s website.

The video, which was released in March on FunnyOrDie.com, came at a time when the president was trying to reach a younger audience for Obamacare and pitched the importance of signups by a March 31 deadline.

During the March interview, Galifianakis asked Obama, "What's it like to be the last black president?" Obama followed up quickly, "Seriously? What's it like for this to be the last time you ever talk to a president?"

The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards airs Aug. 28 at 8 p.m. on WNCN.
