DURHAM, N.C. -

A 12-year-old boy was shot in the hip in Durham Monday in an incident reported at 9:32 p.m. in the 200 block of North Blacknall Street.

The boy was walking on Blacknall Street when shots were fired from a vehicle. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and the injury does not appear to be life threatening.

No charges have been filed, the Durham Police said, and investigators believe the shooting may have stemmed from an argument earlier in the day and was not a random incident.
