Judge seals additional details in Vanderbilt rape case

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A judge has issued a gag order for some of the details in the Vanderbilt rape case.

The order centers around the alleged victim and her personal details that could be made public in court documents.

This order comes after one of the defendants, Brandon Vandenburg, filed a motion to dismiss documents that included pictures of the alleged victim.

That paperwork also included her name, contact information and medical information.

The woman's attorney didn't want that information out in the public, and the judge agreed to seal the alleged victim's personal documents.

The attorneys for Vanderbilt also filed a motion asking the judge not to allow access to Vandenburg's student records. Attorneys argue that the records are protected by student privacy laws. This is in advance of Vandenburg's court hearing on Monday.

Channel 4 will follow these new developments and update this story as more information comes into the newsroom.
