HIV testing available at TSU on Wednesday

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

The Metro Public Health Department is offering free HIV testing on Wednesday at Tennessee State University as part of National HIV Testing Day.

The health department will be offering the testing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Floyd-Payne Campus Center.

Officials will be testing for HIV by using mouth swabs.

Testing is free and open to the public.

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean is expected to visit the event at 1 p.m.

National HIV Testing Day is an annual campaign coordinated by the National Association of People with AIDS. National HIV Testing Day events encourage people of all ages to "Take the Test, Take Control."
