Search warrants give glimpse into double homicide crime scene

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

One month after the murder of Faustino Solis and his girlfriend Cassandra Medina, Tucson police are still actively searching for the killer.

Family members said they had been in contact with detectives, and were eager to hear news of an arrest. So far, no word on any suspects.

Solis's mother asked us to call her only by her first name, Rosa, and asked that disguise her identity, because she worried the killer was still out there.

Rosa said the pain of losing her son was still gnawing at her everyday.

"I have this pain in my stomach that doesn't go away.  I miss him and I can't handle it sometimes," said Rosa.

The couple left behind an 11-month old baby girl.  Police said the child was found alive in the home, covered in blood.

Solis was found gunned down just outside the doorway of the mobile home in the 4,000 block of Fairmount Street.  Medina was shot inside the home.

According to search warrants Tucson News Now has obtained from Superior Court, police seized a gun, holster, ammunition, blood evidence, marijuana, marijuana packaging, and other paraphernalia from inside the mobile home.

"I knew they smoked, both of them, but he wasn't a drug dealer that's for sure.  Nobody deserves to die like that.  There's somebody out there that killed my son and Cassandra, and they didn't deserve it.  This killer could do it again," said Rosa.

She pleaded with anyone who knew anything about the murders to come forward.

Autopsy results have not been released yet.  Family members tell Tucson News Now the victims were both shot once, in the head.

There is a $1,000 reward for anyone who can lead to an arrest in this case.  You can remain anonymous.  If you have any information please call 911 or 88-CRIME.
