Trial set back a second time for former Clay athletic trainer

(Toledo News Now) -

The former clay high school athletic trainer accused of misconduct was set for sentencing Thursday June 19, but her attorney asked for more time.

Melinda Rober's attorney Stephen Hartman said that he feels there is still more information that needs to be given to the judge before the sentencing. He requested an extension.

Two weeks ago, Rober pleaded no contest to two counts of sexual battery. Judge Gary Cook granted Hartman's request to postpone the sentencing until more information is given. Hartman says he wants to make sure all the facts are out there, so the sentencing is fair and accurate.

Rober could face up to ten years in prison and would also have to register as a tier three sex offender.

The sentencing is set for July 14.
