PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A conversation that allegedly began with a Facebook instant message eventually landed a man in jail on charges of child prostitution.

Police allege that sometime between Saturday and Tuesday, Jaquan Tillman, 19, learned that the 17-year-old girl was working as a prostitute. Police said Tillman offered her $350 to perform a sex act. She agreed and Tillman drove to pick her up, officers said.

On Tuesday, Scottsdale police got a tip that a 17-year-old girl was working near an intersection in Phoenix. The victim had been identified through a Backpage escort ad.

A police detective contacted her anonymously and she agreed to have sex for $350, according to a court document.

At the arranged meeting, the detective said a car driven by Tillman pulled up with a girl inside. The girl climbed into the detective's car and they drove to a convenience store parking lot where they were met by police, according to court paperwork.

Tillman and the victim were then transported to police headquarters where officers found a instant message in which Tillman allegedly solicited the victim, the court document stated.

Police requested Tillman be held on a $50,000 cash bond, court paperwork said.
