HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
The three people killed in a Huntsville plane crash Wednesday afternoon have been identified.
Deputy Madison County Coroner David Young identified the victims as William Ross Christopher II, 57, of Center Point, Kenneth Lynn Rousseau, 67, of Harpersville, and Robin Gary Smith, 60, of Yukon, Oklahoma.
Officials said the three people were killed when the airplane they were in ran off the runway at Huntsville International Airport, caught fire and crashed near a fence.
According to air traffic recordings, at least two people witnessed what happened.
Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board are at the site of the crash.
