Genesis Diamonds says competitor made false, malicious claims

Genesis Diamonds is suing to stop one of its competitors from criticizing its store and sales practices.

Genesis was the subject of a widely circulated Channel 4 I-Team investigation last month. Our reports questioned the quality of certain stones and the accuracy of the certificates that supported their value.

The owner of Genesis addressed those claims.

One of the people we interviewed was longtime Nashville jeweler George Khoury.

Genesis now claims in its lawsuit that Khoury and his employees made false, malicious and even anti-Semetic statements to shoppers about Genesis and owner, Boaz Ramon.

Genesis admits hiring and paying two people to pose as customers at Khoury's store after our investigation aired.

Those paid shoppers allegedly secretly recorded conversations with sales people.

Both Khoury and the employee recorded once worked at Genesis.

Khoury says his Hillsboro Village business has done nothing wrong and is simply competing in the marketplace.

He described the legal action by Genesis as a vendetta.
