HOPE MILLS, N.C. -
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two armed men wanted in connection with a break-in and standoff with witness in Hope Mills.
The sheriff’s office said a neighbor, who was armed, saw the two men breaking into a home in the 6000 block of Fire Department Road and ordered one of the suspects to lie on the ground. The second suspect came out of the house and distracted the witness.
The suspect on the ground produced a gun, causing the neighbor to take cover and be in a standoff with the two suspects.
The suspects eventually got in their vehicle and drove off while pointing a gun at the neighbor. The neighbor shot at the suspects’ vehicle, hitting it several times.
The suspects’ vehicle is described as a white sedan. Anyone with information or if anyone sees the vehicle, they are asked to call 911.
