Nurse jumps in to help save man's life at CMA Fest

Posted: Updated:

A fan at the CMA Music Festival was lucky to have a nurse standing by when he got overheated and collapsed on Saturday.

The nurse was nearby when the man collapsed and started CPR immediately.

Paramedics took over when they arrived, and the nurse, who didn't leave her name, disappeared into the crowd.

Medics say the nurse's quick actions were crucial.

"Her early CPR probably saved his life. Quick reaction and proper technique and knowing what to do probably saved his life," said Jason Fults with Vanderbilt LifeFlight.

The man was released from the hospital on Monday.

Vanderbilt's LifeFlight team treated more than 500 people during the music festival for everything from blisters to heat exhaustion.
