There may be no person who has meant more to Valdosta State football than Chris Hatcher.
Now he will be the first person inducted into the Gulf South Conference Hall of Fame.
As a player and a coach, Hatcher elevated the Blazer program to heights never before reached.
Hatcher was VSU's starting quarterback from 1991-1994, during which time he set 13 GSC offensive records.
He won the Harlon Hill Trophy in 1994 while leading VSU to their first national playoff appearance.
As a coach, Hatcher and the Blazers continued to rise.
In his seven seasons at the helm, VSU went 76-12.
Hatcher led the Blazers to two national title games, winning the program's first championship in 2004.
Hatcher and the rest of the inaugural Hall of Fame class will be inducted on June 25 in Pensacola Beach, FL.
